Jr. Web Applications Developer

MercuryCloud is seeking a highly motivated programmer fresh out of college with experience in developing PHP and MySQL applications. The position will be focused on web sites and their underlying tools. You’ll be working with the team to help make our creations a reality on the web. The Skills
To be considered for this role, your background should include:
- Knowledge of OOP software design with focus on Web Development
- Familiarity with the MVC (and other) design patterns
- Familiarity with Zend Framework, CakePHP, or Symfony frameworks a major plus
- Familiarity with *NIX, Apache/Lighttpd, SVN, and Textpattern development experience an asset
- Experience and comfort in a FreeBSD shell and with FreeBSD development environment
- Proven testing and troubleshooting skills
- Any relevant industry certifications an asset
- Experience with CSS/XHTML/JS/DOM required
The Background
- 2+ years of development experience in PHP (including any hands on experience in your current projects)
- 2+ years of experience in MySQL (including hands on experience in your current projects)
- Strong education background including a Bachelor in Computer Science (or similar) and relevant work experience
- Experience in a design firm, agency or studio a plus
- A tight portfolio displaying creative flair demonstrating experience with interactive and multimedia work
